Serbia's Minister of Trade admitted arms supplies to Armenia
Baku/22.07.20/Turan: Serbian Minister of Trade Rasim Lyaich said that one of the private Serbian companies this year supplied two batches of weapons to the South Caucasus.
"The supply of weapons from Serbia is possible only with the permission of four government agencies: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Information Security Agency," an Anadolu correspondent in Belgrade quotes the minister.
The minister did not name the supplier, noting that the supply of arms to Armenia took place in May and June. The contract was worth less than a million euros, Lyaiic said.
The Serbian minister also noted that there are no international sanctions against Armenia and therefore it was difficult for the Serbian side to reject Yerevan's appeal.
According to various sources, Serbia has delivered to Armenia mortars of various calibers, shells for them, parts of the Grad installations, various mines and so on.
According to unofficial data, the deliveries were carried out by sea and by land.
Among the transit countries are Moldova, Georgia and Russia.
The Georgian side denied the accusations, stating that no weapons passed through its territory.
Official Baku expressed its claims to the Serbian government, but there were no statements regarding other countries. -02D-
