Serzh Sargsyan can be imprisoned for eight years
Baku/06.12.19/Turan: The Investigative Service of Armenia launched a criminal prosecution against former President Serzh Sargsyan. He was summoned for interrogation, and is not allowed to leave the place, Radio Liberty reported.
The ex-president of Armenia is accused of organizing the theft of more than $ 1 million. However, Sargsyan rejected the allegations, considering them political.
According to the Armenian media, in 2013, during a tender for the supply of diesel fuel, Sargsyan ordered to recognize Flash as the winner, although another company offered a lower price. The reason for choosing the authorities was that the owner of the Flash Company, Barsegh Beglaryan, was a close friend of Serzh Sargsyan. The loss for the country's budget amounted to more than $ 1 million.
If Sargsyan is found guilty, he can go to jail for up to 8 years.
A criminal case on embezzlement charges had previously been instituted against two brothers of Sargsyan and his nephew. One of the brothers hid from the investigation, the second paid off, and his nephew is in prison. -02D-
