Sheikh Pashazadeh Finally Makes Statement on Jerusalem
Baku / 12.12.17 / Turan: The Caucasus Muslims Department (CMD) issued a statement on the issue of Jerusalem, calling the use of religious feelings for political purposes unacceptable.
"Jerusalem must be a space of dialogue and peace for all mankind. Everything that is happening in the world today worries us.
Intolerance, xenophobia, Islamophobia, terror and extremism are manifested at a time when the confrontation on national and religious grounds does not subside. It is necessary to protect such sacred values as human life, the restoration of peace and stability.
When making any political decisions that could cost millions of lives, it is necessary to foresee possible consequences from the confrontation. We must remember that humanity can come to its end because of hatred on the basis of religion and nationality," the statement said.
The CMD considers the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel a wrong action. This violates the rights of not only Muslims, but also representatives of other religions. The CMD insists on the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution of 1967 in connection with Jerusalem, the statement said. -16D-
