Sheikh-ul-Islam invited the Patriarch of Constantinople to Karabakh
Baku/02.04.21/ Turan: The Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMD), Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh invited Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and Metropolitan Emanuel to Karabakh to visit mosques and churches together, the message of the press service of the CMO dated April 2.
Pashazade met with Bartholomew on April 1 in Istanbul as part of the session of the KAİCİİD International Dialogue Center.
During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed, including the state of mosques and sanctuaries in the territories of Azerbaijan, which were under the occupation of Armenia for almost 30 years.
The head of the CMO drew attention to the fact that during the occupation the cities and villages of Azerbaijan were turned into ruins, historical, religious, cultural monuments of universal significance, Islamic, Orthodox and Jewish churches were destroyed. Pashazade also pointed out the desecration of churches.
He said that in the liberated territories, the Azerbaijani state would guarantee the residence of representatives of all religions in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. -05D06-

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
