SOCAR hopes for the European Commission
SOCAR expects the deal to purchase for 400 million euros a 66% of the Greek gas transmission operator DESFA, will be approved in early 2015, reads the report from SOCAR on November 6 in connection with the audit the transaction by the EU Antimonopoly Agency.
SOCAR appreciates the efforts and resources of the Antimonopoly Commission structure, "aimed at a deeper study of the transaction, and is ready for constructive cooperation." To check out the transaction the European Commission announced a second phase, during which a detailed study of the issue is planed to purchase a share DESFA. Usually it takes 90 working days, the report said SOCAR.
* The European Commission announced on November 5 that it had began checking because of fears that on the gas market in Greece competition will reduce. The Agency must make a decision at the end of March 2015, the agency dpa reported.
The transaction is associated with the construction project of 3,500-kilometer Trans Adriatic Pipeline. -02D-
