State asks Ukrainian citizens to legalize stay in Azerbaijan
Baku/17.05.22/Turan: The State Migration Service (SMS) is taking measures to ensure that the citizens of Ukraine who do not have legal grounds for residence in Azerbaijan and cannot return to Ukraine because of the known situation, could legally stay in the country after the 90-day period of stay in Azerbaijan.
This is said in the response of head of the SMS press service Elnur Kalantarov to Turan agency's question regarding the rules of stay in Azerbaijan of Ukrainian citizens and extension of their period of stay in the country.
Citizens of Ukraine who are not registered at their place of residence in Azerbaijan can come to the Baku and regional offices of State Migration Service or to the windows of the migration service in "ASAN" with their identity documents. You can also apply electronically to the official website, electronic portal and e-mail (qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az), or register via the MİGAZ mobile application. Besides, you can call the SMS on the daily 24-hour phone number (012 919)
When asked about the possible punishment for late application to the SMS, Kalantarov explained: each case is considered in detail, taking into account the possibility of a citizen to apply to the SMS. With regard to citizens of Ukraine, as a rule, their situation is taken into account. At the same time the SMS advises Ukrainian citizens to apply to the Service in time to legalize their stay in Azerbaijan.
The Head of the State Migration Service reported that at present there are less than 10 foreigners in the centers for illegal migrants who violated the rules of residence. Kalantarov specified that currently there are no citizens of Ukraine in the Centers for Illegal Migrants of the SMS. -0--
