Summit of Caspian States to Take Place in Tehran
Baku / 27.05.18 / Turan: Delegations of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss cooperation to ensure safety of navigation in the Caspian Sea on May 28-29 in Tehran. This is reported by IRNA.
The head of the organization of ports and shipping of Iran, Ali Akbar Marzban, said on Sunday that ensuring the safety of navigation, facilitating cooperation mechanisms on maritime search and rescue and the use of legal opportunities for controlling ships will be included in the agenda of the meeting.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a constructive role in ensuring security and environmentally friendly marine environment.
"Maritime disasters and the need for regional cooperation are among the issues that have been considered in the format of multilateral agreements over the past 2 years," Marzban said, adding that it is planned to hold regular meetings, and memoranda of understanding should be signed by the Caspian states.
IRNA recalls that the second meeting on ensuring safety of navigation with the participation of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat. --0-
