Tehran cautiously objected to the expulsion of diplomats, calling Baku for good neighborliness
Baku / 07.04.23 / Turan: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani called on Friday Azerbaijan to respect each other after Baku expelled four Iranian diplomats from the country.
He urged "to move in the direction of good neighborliness and stay away from what the Zionists and the enemies of the region want."
Kanaani called Baku's actions "hasty, emotional and unconstructive."
"We consider such behavior of the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be contrary to the principles of good neighborliness," he said.
As Israel "attacks Muslims and desecrates the Al-Aqsa Mosque," Iran is calling on the Islamic world to counter Israel's "criminal" regime, Kanaani said.
Recall that on April 6, Azerbaijan expelled four Iranian diplomats for actions incompatible with the status of a diplomat. -0-
