Telephone conversation between the presidents of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation
Baku/01.04.21/Turan: On April 1, a telephone conversation took place between the presidents of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, the Kremlin press service reported.
“They discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh. It was noted with satisfaction that the situation is generally stable, and the ceasefire is being strictly observed,” the message says.
“Taking into account the talks of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk in Baku, the progress of work on establishing economic ties and transport communications in the South Caucasus, carried out in accordance with the Statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia dated November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, was considered. In this context, a positive assessment was given to the activities of the working group co-chaired by the vice-premiers of the three countries.
A number of topical issues on the bilateral agenda were touched upon, including cooperation in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection. They reaffirmed their mutual disposition to continue strengthening the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and promoting mutually beneficial projects. It was agreed on further contacts,” the press release concluded.
Two days ago, Putin had a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan.
Today, General Muradov, commander of the peacekeepers in Karabakh, held a meeting in Yerevan with Chief of the General Staff of Armenia Davtyan. —16D06-
