Term of Arrest of NIDA Activists Extended

The term of the arrest of the activists of the civil movement NIDA, Rashadat Akhundov has been extended for another three months. According to NIDA, the sanction's extension was authorized by Nasimi Court.

 
Today, expected is extension of the detention of another activist of NIDA, Zaur Gurbanly, who suffers from thalassemia.
 
The arrested members of the movement are accused of buying, selling and transporting explosives.
 
Currently under arrest, in addition to Akhundov and Gurbanly, are Shahin Novruzlu, Bakhtiyar Guliyev and Mahammad Azizov.
 
Amnesty International considers them prisoners of conscience. -16B04-
