The amount of fines for violation of the law "On Political Parties"
Baku/16.08.2013/Turan: New fines for violation of the law "On political Parties" have been established in Azerbaijan. This happened after amendments were made to the Code of Administrative Offences on the basis of a law signed by the head of state.
According to the amendment, individuals will be fined from 700 to 1000 manats, officials – by 1500 to 2000 manats, and legal entities – from 6000 to 8000 manats for the activities of foreign political parties, as well as their subdivisions on the territory of Azerbaijan.
For any actions of political parties that have expired, individuals are fined 700 - 1000 manat, officials - from 1000 to 1500 manat, and legal entities - from 2000 to 3000 manat.
For failure to provide information about changes in the register of members of a political party within the prescribed period, officials will be fined 1000-1500 manat, and legal entities – 2000-3000 manat.
For the production and sale of socio-political publications, and other propaganda and propaganda materials, as well as for participation in entrepreneurial activities, a political party will be fined from 2 to 4 times the amount of income received.
For interference of a political party in the activities of state bodies, local self-government bodies, officials, as well as in the entrepreneurial activities of other persons, officials are fined from 500 to 700 manats, and legal entities from 3000 to 5000 manats.
For failure to notify the relevant government agencies about the conclusion of an agreement with political parties of other countries, or about membership in international associations of political parties, the fine will be from 1,500 to 2,000 manats.
If a political party does not return a donation received in violation of the requirements of the Law "On Political Parties" within the time limit prescribed by law, the fine will be from 60 to 80 percent of the donation amount. ---03----

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan rejected Ilham Aliyev's demands for Yerevan to stop acquiring weapons. "Armenia has acquired and will continue to acquire weapons solely for the purpose of self-defense. Over 200 square kilometers of our sovereign territory is under the control of Azerbaijan. On January 8, Ilham Aliyev received the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian. Ahmadian conveyed greetings from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian to Aliyev. Aliyev asked Ahmadian to convey his reciprocal greetings.

On November 8, a hearing took place in the Sabail District Court regarding the criminal case of Aziz Orudjov, the head of Kanal-13. During the session, Orudjov's lawyers requested that his pre-trial detention be changed to house arrest. However, the request was not granted. The prosecutor then announced the indictment. Orudjov denied the charges against him. The next court session is scheduled for January 24.

On January 8, President Ilham Aliyev received Magdalena Grono, the European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus, according to the Azerbaijani President's press service.
