The appointment of the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan is expected
Baku/20.04.17/Turan: On April 21 a meeting of the Milli Majlis is scheduled to consider the president's representation on the appointment of the Azerbaijani prime minister. Turan was informed about this by one of the deputies, who wished to remain anonymous.
According to the Constitution, the prime minister is nominated by the president of the country.
After the appointment of the prime minister, the head of state himself appoints the other members of the government.
There are no official comments on a possible candidate for the post of prime minister.
According to rumors, 83-year-old Arthur Rasizade, who has been at this post since 1996, will leave the prime minister's chair. Also, according to rumors, among the contenders are often called the first vice-premier Yagub Eyubov, the minister of taxes Mikayil Jabbarov, vice-premier Ali Ahmadov and a number of other persons. -06D-
