The Armenian side reports an escalation on the border of Lachin and Goris
Baku/12.05.21/Turan: On the night of May 12, up to 200 Azerbaijani soldiers advanced their positions in the direction of the Syunik region of Armenia. This was reported by the Armenian media with reference to the authorities of Goris.
Deputy Mayor of Goris Irina Yolyan said that the Azerbaijanis crossed the state border from Mount Ishkhanasar and advanced three kilometers in the direction of the village of Verishen. Lake Sevlich is located here, 30% of which is located on Azerbaijani territory, but the Azerbaijanis want to completely take control of this reservoir, Yolyan said.
In turn, former governor of Syunik region Vahe Hakobyan told Sputnik Armenia that the Azerbaijani military blocked the road to the Armenian checkpoint in the Ishkhanasar area during the night.
According to the latest information from the Armenian side, negotiations have begun between the parties with the participation of the Russian military.
