The Attorney General reports on the results of the first six months of the year
In the first half of this year 14,251 crimes were registered. More than 85% of them are less grave, 14.4% are serious and very serious, said at a meeting the Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov. According to him, in comparison with previous years, the number of victims of homicides, rapes and acts of hooliganism decreased. There is full disclosure of crimes such as kidnapping and rape;
87 homicides have been disclosed immediately. In total, in the first half of the year 7003 persons involved criminal liability were brought to justice, 1121 of them - for grave and especially grave crimes;
1536 people, that evaded the judicial and investigative bodies, were detained.
One hundred lawsuits against 143 people accused of official forgery and embezzlement, were sent to the court. For damages in the amount of 9.785.000 manat were paid 3.151.000 AZN.
During the meeting it was noted that 19 prosecutors were disciplined for misconduct, and 6 people were dismissed from the prosecution.
Vusal Kazimov, the investigator of Sabail district prosecutor's office, Chingiz Guliyev, senior assistant of the prosecutor of the Imishli region, Tural Alahverdi, the assistant prosecutor of the Khachmaz region, Adil Mammadov , Assistant Attorney of Gubadli region were dismissed because of gross misconduct.
A lawsuit was filed against Elmar Ahmedli, the senior investigator of the prosecutor's office of Masalli region for failure of service and disciplinary rules. At the same charges was arrested by the prosecutor of Baku office Samir Nasirov. -0-
