The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the efforts of Moscow to normalize relations between Baku and Yerevan
Baku/23.02.23/Turan: In an interview with TASS the foreign minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin, answered the question "could a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevanov be signed in the foreseeable future." He said that Russia is making targeted efforts to normalize relations between Baku and Yerevan. They are based on a set of trilateral agreements at the highest level of 2020–2022, which involve unlocking transport ties between the two countries, the division of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and the development of contacts along the civil society.
“We provide consistent assistance to the parties in the development of a peace treaty.
All these steps should lead to the creation of conditions for a strong, stable and fair world in the region, which will be a reflection of a peace treaty. Our mediation is to ensure a constructive and substantial dialogue in order to search for mutually acceptable interchanges, taking into account the interests of both sides. For this purpose, the special representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to normalize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations Khovaev makes regular trips to Yerevan and Baku-the last time, respectively, 9–10 and February 14-15 of this year. We also conveyed to partners Russian considerations about the basic principles and parameters of the peace process that take into account the approaches of the parties, ”Galuzin said. --02D--
