The Embassy of Latvia is organising a charity photo auction
Baku/13.08.31/Turan: The Embassy of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with TheLandmark, F3.7 Union and PlatformART is organising Photography Charity Auction on 18 August at 20:00 at the Orange Grove/Landmark, Rotunda Roof. Latvia as EU Member state country is committed to implementing the European Green Deal.
The Photography Charity Auction presents the works recently exhibited at the DEFOCUSED Exhibition held in Baku Photography House. The Works talk about the environmental situation from an aesthetic point of view through the eyes of young generation of contemporary photographers of Azerbaijan, such as Emin Mathers, Sharaf Naghiyeva, Tati Sattar, Chichek Bayramly, Leyla Musayeva, Zaur Mirzayev, Kamil Abbaszadeh, Orkhan Huseynov, Lala Aliyeva, Nurlan Babazadeh.
The money obtained from the purchase the photographs, thereby contributing to the to the ecological NGO ”Ecofront” participating in solving ecological issues of the region.
Latvia has done a lot on the way of the way from isolated “energy island” towards achieving free and transparent energy market. The country has always been looking at Green Future projects, the Embassy of Latvia reports.—--0—

November 17 is celebrated in Azerbaijan as National Revival Day. On November 17, 1988 uninterrupted rallies began on the main square of Baku - "Azadliq" (former Lenin Square - ed.) with the demand to ensure the sovereignty over Karabakh. Later, the participants of the rally raised the question of Azerbaijan's independence.

Norwegian Minister of International Development, Anne Beathe Tvinnereim, who traveled to Baku for COP29, met with political prisoner Gubad Ibadoglu, a professor at the London School of Economics and Dresden University of Technology, who is currently under police surveillance and under house arrest. Minister Tvinnereim, representing the Norwegian government, inquired about the restrictions imposed on Ibadoglu, his health condition, and the progress of the investigation into the charges against him.
