The EU Mission is organizing a European Summer School for Azerbaijani youth
Baku/12.06.23/Turan: The EU Delegation to Azerbaijan will organize a "European Summer School" (EuroSchool) for young people in one of the country's regions on August 8-10. From 8-10 August 2023, the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan will organize a new edition of the EuroSchool in one of the regions of Azerbaijan. In total, 18 young motivated people aged 18 -25 from all over the country will be selected to take part in the EuroSchool, supported by the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan and the EU Neighbours East communication project.
During the three-day event the participants with international trainers will engage in a number of interactive sessions to learn more about the EU, its history, fundamental principles and values, issues relating to energy and the environment, European Neighbourhood Policy, the Eastern Partnership initiative, and EU-Azerbaijan relations. They will also hear about education and other opportunities available for young people in Europe. Along with the educational part of the programme, the participants will also join excursions within the region. Young people from the European Union countries will also join the event and share their knowledge and experience with their peers in Azerbaijan.
Transportation from Baku to the region and back, meals and accommodation will be covered by the EU Delegation.
Participants will be selected on the basis of their CV and Motivation Letters in English, covering also the topic "EU-Azerbaijan – stronger together", which should be sent to Delegation-Azerbaijan@eeas.europa.eu by 29 June 2023. The event is the sixth EU-focused summer school organised in Azerbaijan. It is supported in the framework of the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ network, an EU initiative launched in 2016 covering the EU Member States and Eastern partnership countries.

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has expressed condolences to the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, following the tragic incident in the city of Magdeburg. "We are deeply shocked by the news of the deaths and injuries resulting from the tragic incident that took place at the Christmas market in Magdeburg," the message reads.
