The fate of more than 3,000 missing persons in the First Karabakh War remains unknown
Baku/18.09.23/Turan: Armenia handed over the remains of only 120 people out of 3,890 dead to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Military prosecutor Khanlar Veliyev state on MOnday at an international conference: "Strengthening national and international efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons."
The Military Prosecutor noted that 10,815 biological samples were taken from 3,407 family members of 3,890 missing in the First Karabakh War. Some of the missing Azerbaijani citizens are buried in Armenia. "Today, the Armenian side does not name the coordinates of these places. "Of these 3,890 remains, only 120 people were transferred to Azerbaijan," he said.
Veliyev noted that the remains of another 508 people were found in the liberated territories. The Armenian side does not provide maps of the territories polluted by mines. For this reason, it is difficult to determine the location of mass graves where prisoners were buried. ---16D---
