The First Major Crisis in the Georgian Government
Tbilisi/23.01.13/Turan-BS PRESS: During “Accents”, a program on First Channel OVG, Tuesday evening, Georgian Defense Minister, Irakli Alasania, said he has a “difficult conversation” with Prime Minister, Bidzina Ivanishvili. The conversation was on the nomination for the upcoming presidential elections.
Parliamentary elections of October 1, 2012 the ruling force of the country was part of the coalition of the "Georgian Dream" led by the current Prime Minister Ivanishvili. The coalition includes several political parties, including the "Free Democrats", whose leader is Alasania. According to the Constitution the presidential election is to be held in October 2013. If a single candidate from the coalition will be represented, is unknown.
Alasania indicated that Ivanishvili is angry because he did not agree with the candidate for the presidential election. Asking the question, whether Alasania will nominate himself, he said that the issue would be solved by the coalition and its leader, Ivanishvili.
On Wednesday, it was reported on 21 January, the Prime Minister of Georgia signed an order depriving Defense Alasania of his vice premier authority without giving any reason. It is likely, that in the near future Alasania will be dismissed from the Ministry of Defense. -02D-

On November 13, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Afghan Taliban held talks in Baku as part of the COP29 conference. According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.

She had been accredited in the "Green Zone" as a civil rights activist. From the moment she entered the conference area, a young man began to follow her.
