The foreign ministers of the Turkic states supported the measures of the Kazakh authorities to normalize the situation
Baku/11.01.22/Turan: A video conference of the foreign ministers of the Turkic Council countries was held on January 11, at the initiative of the Turkish Foreign Minister. It was attended by Mevlut Cavusoglu (Turkey), Jeyhun Bayramov (Azerbaijan), Muhtar Tileuberdi (Kazakhstan), Ruslan Kazakbayev (Kyrgyzstan), Abdulaziz Kamilov (Uzbekistan), Peter Siyarto (Hungary), Rashid Meredov (Turkmenistan), Baghdad Amreev - general Secretary of the Organization of Turkic States.
The participants discussed the situation in and around Kazakhstan and adopted a final statement. The document notes that the Organization of Turkic States considers it its duty to support the people and government of Kazakhstan.
They express their condolences to the relatives of the killed in the riots; express support and solidarity with Kazakhstan; condemn acts of violence and vandalism, violations of public order; emphasize the importance of observing the norms and principles of international law and support the authorities' counter-terrorism measures against terrorists, radicals and extremists.
The participants expressed their readiness to support the people and government of Kazakhstan to overcome the current crisis and supported the reform program of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. -02D-

On January 15, the Tbilisi Court of Appeals rejected the appeal of Afghan Sadigov, the founder of the Azel TV website, who had protested his extradition to Azerbaijan. Sadigov’s wife, Sevinj Sadigova, stated that this was the final judicial instance in Georgia making a decision on the case, Turan reported. On January 15, the Yasamal District Court rejected the motion to change the detention measure for Azer Gasymly, the director of the Institute of Political Management, his lawyer, Agyl Laidj, to Turan. "Azer Gasymly stated during the trial that the charges against him were fabricated and related to his socio-political activities," the lawyer said. An appeal will be filed against the court's decision.
