The Milli Majlis proposes sanctions against France for anti-Azerbaijani Senate resolution
Baku/16.11.22/Turan: "The documents adopted by both houses of the French Parliament undermine Azerbaijani-French relations, including the points of the bilateral agreement of 1993," the Milli Majlis said in a statement adopted on November 16 in connection with the resolution of the French Parliament .
The fascist antics of Armenian groups against the Azerbaijani embassy in Paris, and the inability of the authorities to stop them, demonstrates France's support for Armenia.
"One of the reasons why the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was not resolved for 30 years was France's support for Armenia in an attempt to maintain the status quo," the statement said.
The French Senate claims that Azerbaijan was allegedly condemned at a meeting of the UN Security Council for attacking Armenia. Although in fact at that meeting the majority of the UN Security Council members called for the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
“This indicates that the French Senate is using the UN Security Council for its dirty intentions. The paragraph of the resolution on the Lachin corridor shows how the authors of the document are not informed about the situation,” the statement says.
Azerbaijani parliamentarians also recall the war crimes committed by France, which remain a black spot in the history of mankind. In particular, this is the genocide of 1.5 million Algerians during the French occupation.
“Armenian terrorists sponsored by France in Armenia were recognized as national heroes and subsequently carried out terrorist attacks on the territory of Azerbaijan.
We call on France to abandon the policy of colonialism, recognize the crimes against humanity it has committed, pay compensation to countries whose natural resources it has plundered and apologize to them,” the statement continued.
In view of the foregoing, the parliament appeals to the government of Azerbaijan not to allow France to the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In addition, it was proposed to freeze French assets and reconsider the participation of French companies in the energy sector of Azerbaijan.
It was also proposed to raise the issue of France's crimes in the Non-Aligned Movement, to include the issue of French Turkophobia on the agenda of the Unification of Turkic States, and the Islamophobia of France in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The statement was adopted by 95 votes "for" with one "against". ---06B---
