The National Council preparing for session
Baku/08.01.14/Turan : In the coming days, a session of the National Council of Democratic Forces of Azerbaijan will discuss the fate of this structure. This decision was taken at a meeting of the advisory board , chaired by the chairman of the National Council Jamil Hasanli on Tuesday evening.
The session, which can be expected to take place on Saturday, will try to turn NCDF to an effective coalition of democratic forces.
Since the inception on May 28, 2013 the National Council for various reasons could not perform a coordinating function between political parties and civil society activists.
Earlier NCDF was left by the Liberal Party, the Islamic Party and the Open Society Party's leader Rasul Guliyev. Rustam Ibrahimbekov left as Chairman. Musavat announced its exit from NCDF on Tuesday.
It should be noted that a number of independent public figures has not taken part in NCDF since the inception of the National Council. As part of the National Council since inception, there were 139 members representing political parties and independent figures. -0 -
