The next meeting on the demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held in Moscow
Baku/23.08.22/Turan: A meeting of members of the commissions for the demarcation and security of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held at the end of August in Moscow, the office of Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan. The agenda for the upcoming meeting has not been disclosed.
The last meeting of the Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev, took place on May 24 at the border of the two countries. Recently, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held talks with Grigoryan and Mustafayev. Among others, the date of the trilateral meeting in Moscow was also discussed.
Traditionally, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk also takes part in these negotiations. This decision was made at a meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in January 2021 in Moscow.
Azerbaijan considers it necessary to demarcate on the basis of the borders that existed at the time of the beginning of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in 1988. Armenia does not have a clear position on this issue, but most often Yerevan talks about the borders of the early 20th century. --02D--
