The number of firefighters from Azerbaijan in Turkey to be increased to 710
Baku/06.08.21/Turan: Today the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had a telephone conversation.
According to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan, Aliyev expressed condolences in connection with the loss of life because of forest fires in Turkey.
Erdogan, for his part, thanked Azerbaijan for its assistance to Turkey in extinguishing the fires.
Aliyev noted that another 40 fire engines have already left and will arrive in the disaster zone tomorrow.
Thus, the number of fire engines and other equipment sent from Azerbaijan will reach 93, including one helicopter and one amphibious aircraft. In total, 510 firefighters from Azerbaijan are fighting the fire.
The President of Azerbaijan proposed to send an additional 200 specially trained firefighters, thereby increasing the number of firefighters from Azerbaijan to 710 people.
Erdogan thanked for this additional support and noted that this support is a vivid manifestation of brotherhood and friendship between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
During the conversation, President Ilham Aliyev also informed Erdogan about the provocations committed by Armenia on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and emphasizing that the Azerbaijani army adequately responded to the provocations from Armenia.
