Baku/26.12.23/Turan: On December 26, the CEC of Azerbaijan approved the nomination of 8 more candidates for president.
In particular, the candidacies of Sarvan Kerimov (engaged in scientific activities), Matlab Mutallimli (former MP), Abutalyb Samedov (former MP Fikret Yusifov (ex-Finance Minister), Yusif Bagirzade (ex-MP and ex-CEC member), Yunus Oguz (editor-in-chief of the newspaper Olaylar) , Arzuman Abdulkerimov (former vice president of the pro-state party "Otechestva") and Gulamhusein Alibeyli were approved (ex-MP, former head of the Supreme Mejlis of the Popular Front Party).
Thus, the number of approved candidates has reached 15. Earlier, the current head of state Ilham Aliyev, Zahid Oruj (head of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and the Center for Social Research), Fazil Mustafa (deputy, head of the Great Creation Party), Elshad Musayev (chairman of the Great Azerbaijan Party), Gudrat Hasanguliyev (chairman of the People's Front of Integral Azerbaijan Party) and Razi were approved Nurallayev (Chairman of the National Front Party).
To register, a candidate must submit to the CEC 40,000 signatures of voters collected in at least 60 electoral districts. Early elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for February 7. –03B06-
