The Prosecutor"s Office warns organizers of Sunday"s rally
The Deputy Prosecutor of Baku Fazil Gasanaliyev warned the organizers of Sunday's opposition rally on the inadmissibility of illegal actions. The warning came to Rasim Amiraslanov and Aydin Aliyev, whose names are in the application for holding a rally on October 27 from 16.00 to 18.00 at the stadium Mehsul in Yasamal.
The Deputy Prosecutor recommended to comply with the requirements of the law at a meeting on Freedom of Assembly and to strictly curb slogans calling for discrimination, inciting national, racial or religious hatred.
Gasanaliev warned that in case of breach of the peace and tranquility of the citizens and refusal to obey the lawful demands of the authorities, disruption of business and transportation, such actions will be strongly suppressed.
Gasanaliev reminded that all this entails criminal liability under Article 169 (violation of the rules of assembly), 220 (rioting) and 233 (public nuisance).
Recall that after the last meeting on October 12 there were serious clashes between the police and the protesters. The reason for this was slogans calling for the resignation of President Ilham Aliyev. -06D-
