The Regulation on the Economic Council was approved
Baku/12.02.21/Turan: On February 12, the head of state Ilham Aliyev approved the Regulations on the Economic Council of the country.
This structure was created by his own decree on September 9, 2020 "in order to develop measures to preserve macroeconomic stability in the country and accelerate socio-economic development, formulate economic policy for the current and medium term by studying the processes taking place in the global and national economy."
The Economic Council is charged with the obligation to submit proposals to the President to achieve these goals twice a year.
The Economic Council is chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov. The structure also includes presidential aides: Shahmar Movsumov and Natig Amirov, assistants to the first vice president: Emin Huseynov and Khalid Ahadov, ministers: Economy - Mikail Jabbarov, Finance - Samir Sharifov, Labor and Social Protection - Sahil Babayev, Chairman of the Central Bank - Elman Rustamov, executive director of the State Oil Fund Israfil Mammadov.
The Economic Council replaced the earlier Financial Stability Council. –06D-

Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who arrived in Baku today, held a press conference at the COP29 climate conference. When asked about the arrested climate activists and opposition figures in Azerbaijan, she stated that Germany advocates for the release of government critics and that she would raise this issue during her meeting with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister. Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
