The Russian Foreign Ministry expects to launch a dialogue between Baku and Karabakh
Baku/18.09.23/Turan: Russia continues to contribute to the resolution of the difficult humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh on the basis of the initiative of Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov on the parallel unblocking of the Lachin and Aghdam routes for humanitarian transportation, the comments of the press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated on Monday.
"On September 18, thanks to the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the participation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the Russian Foreign Ministry, shipments of food and medicines were delivered to the region simultaneously from both directions. We expect the continuation of unhindered and regular humanitarian supplies in the interests of the local population.
We hope that the gradual improvement of the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh will create conditions for launching a dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert and resuming rhythmic work on the implementation of the entire set of trilateral agreements of the leaders at the highest level of 2020-2022 on the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. We are fully interested in maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus," the comment says. ---02D---
