TABIB warns the population about the "Eris" virus
Baku/18.09.23/Turan: The Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Formations (TABIB) warned the population about the EG virus.5, this is a sub-variant of COVID-19, known in the scientific literature as "Eris".
Nazrin Mustafayeva, Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at TABIB, said that the "Eris" virus has been spreading around the world for several months. New cases of infection have been recorded in the USA, China, the UK and other European countries.
No cases of infection with the new strain have been registered in Azerbaijan yet. There are no recommendations in international protocols on the development of a specific type of vaccine against this strain and the start of vaccination. As always, people who are at risk for all COVID-19 strains should be more careful.
Azerbaijan has been quarantined since March 2020 in connection with the COVID-19 disease, and this decision is valid until October 1 of this year. The land borders of the country are closed to people. ---03---
