Baku/18.09.23/Turan: Public activist Taleh Hasmamedov was detained in the Goychay region, his mother Gulbuta Hasmamedova told Turan. According to her, the son was detained on the afternoon of September 17 near his home in the city of Goychay.

Witnesses saw two people approach him and after that, police officers immediately "arrived" and detained him. A lawyer appointed at the expense of the state informed the family that Hasmamedov was detained on the complaint of two residents of Ismailly and Baku, allegedly the activist attacked them.

"At first they told us that a criminal case had been initiated under the Article "hooliganism", and then they said that an investigation was still being conducted," Hasmamedova noted. She noted that her son was engaged in human rights work, but did not scold the government.

Taleh Hasmamedov was previously convicted twice – for hooliganism and beating a person. Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. Both times he was released early (pardoned).

In 2018, a criminal case was opened against him for the third time on charges of extortion, but he was later released. ---06B---
