The Senate of Jordan recognizes the Khojaly genocide

The senate of Jordan issued a statement on the Khojaly genocide, which condemned the violence against the Muslim population, acts of vandalism.

The statement noted the need to resolve the Karabakh conflict in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, within the framework of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, on the basis of UN Security Council resolutions on the conflict.

The Senate of Jordan called on other countries to support Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced people who find themselves in difficult conditions as a result of the conflict.

The town of Khojali populated by Azerbaijanis in Nagorno-Karabakh, was captured by Armenian forces with the support of 366th regiment of the Russian Army on the night from 25 to 26 February 1992. Mass murder of civilians was during the capture of the city; more than 613 people, including women, children,  and old people.—06D--
