The trial of two Armenian citizens accused of espionage has begun
Baku/14.07.21 / Turan: The Baku Court for Serious Crimes held a preparatory hearing on the case of two Armenian citizens David Davtyan and Gevorg Sudjyan.
They were provided with an interpreter and lawyers at the state expense.
It should be reminded that they are charged with actions as set forth in Articles 228 (Illegal possession of weapons), 276 (espionage), 279 (creation of armed formations or groups unprovided by the law) and 318 (illegal crossing of the state border) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The hearing on the merits is scheduled for July 26.
According to the Armenian media, Sudjyan is a blogger.
In November 2020, he and his friend shot a video in Istisu (Kalbajar region of Azerbaijan) and shared the footage on Facebook.
In this video, he used street swearing against Azerbaijanis. More than 6000 users shared this video from his page.
Some time later, on November 11, the Armenian media reported on the disappearance of Davtyan and Sudjyan. –06D-
