The Turkish press on Putin"s visit
The Turkish press actively commented on the results of the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Most of the media stress Putin’s words that the current turnover of $32 billion may rise to $100 billion per year. Newspaper «Yeni Safag» among the eight signed documents allocates agreement between "Gazprom" and «Botas» on gas transportation, the joint development of deposits of construction of nuclear power plants, and so on. Russia has promised to export nuclear technology and build nuclear center. The Russian side expressed its readiness to lower gas price for Turkey by 6% and increase by 3 billion cubic meters the current volumes.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called the Turkish-Russian relations "historic", which in the future may be "exemplary."
The Turkish press quoted Putin's words that the two countries' views on what is happening may be different, "but mutual benefit is so deep that there is no other chance but to deepen cooperation."
The visit was not without protests. Thus, about 50 Chechens and the same number of the Crimean Tatars protested on the road of the Russian president’s route with posters "Out of the Crimea!", "Get out of Chechnya!"
Diplomatic sources in Ankara reported that Erdogan and Putin discussed the situation in Ukraine, and separately in the Crimea and in Syria. Ankara supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine, stressing the need to terminate violations of the rights of the Crimean Tatars. Turkey also called on Moscow not to support the Assad regime in Syria.
In response, Putin assured that the rights of the Crimean Tatars were not broken, and will not be violated. As for Syria, Russia supports the formation of such a government, which will be presented to all political forces. -05D04-
