The US Ambassador meets with head of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh
Baku/29.01.20/Turan: At the initiative of the US ambassador to Baku, Lee Litsenberger, a meeting was held with the head of the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Tural Ganjaliyev.
According to a community statement dated January 29, Ganjaliyev informed the ambassador about the basic wishes and requirements of the Azerbaijani community, in particular, their return to their lands, restoration of violated rights, including property rights.
Ambassador Litzenberger said he is closely following the activities of the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
It should be noted that the meeting took place on the eve of official talks between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Geneva.
The reception of Ganjaliyev as an ambassador testifies to the US recognition of the factor of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh, contrary to the statements of the Armenian side, which only Karabakh Armenians can speak on behalf of the population of this region. — 06D-

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
