There is no more place for France's mediation - Ilham Aliyev
Baku/14.10.22/Turan: Although the OSCE Minsk Group has lost its role as a mediator, Azerbaijan agreed to a 4-sided meeting in Prague with the participation of French President Macron. However, just a week later, the President of France made insulting, unacceptable, false and provocative statements against Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ton at the summit of the CIS heads of state in Astana on Friday.
“He declared Azerbaijan to be the instigator of a “terrible war,” manipulating facts and trying to mislead the French and world community. Azerbaijan waged war on its internationally recognized territory. Karabakh is recognized by the whole world as part of Azerbaijan. We used the right to self-defense and restored our territorial integrity by force,” Aliyev said.
“There were also tendentious statements addressed to the Russian Federation that “Russia has played the ‘Azerbaijani game’,” Aliyev continued. “We categorically condemn, reject such statements and do not see the opportunity for France to play any role in the normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations with such an attitude of the French government,” Aliyev stressed.
In addition, the French Foreign Minister also made false anti-Azerbaijani statements, and the French Senate and the lower house of their parliament adopted resolutions “recognizing” the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh during the Second Karabakh War.
Aliyev expressed regret that the current French leadership, unlike the previous ones, takes a one-sided position and crosses out the activities of previous French presidents.
He also drew attention to the fact that the Azerbaijani embassy was attacked twice in Paris over the past month. “After the first attack, the President of France, in a telephone conversation, promised me that measures would be taken to prevent this from happening again. But this turned out to be untrue, to put it mildly. The security in front of the Azerbaijani embassy was removed and immediately after that, crowds of raging radicals attacked the Azerbaijani embassy. This is categorically unacceptable,” Aliyev said. --06D--
