Tokayev proposes to increase the Azerbaijani-Kazakh trade turnover to $1 billion
Baku/10.04.23/Turan: The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ilham Aliyev held talks in an expanded format, the press service of Akorda reports. The President of Kazakhstan said that this visit is of great importance for strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
"Last year we signed a declaration on strengthening strategic relations and deepening allied cooperation, as well as a comprehensive program for the development of cooperation until 2026. A number of important documents will also be adopted today. Moreover, within the framework of your visit, we are consolidating the establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council, which will undoubtedly give a powerful impetus to bilateral relations," Tokayev said. He noted with satisfaction the significant progress in trade and economic cooperation.
"As we have already noted today, the trade turnover has grown by 40% and reached half a billion dollars. I think this is a significant result. I am sure that as we fully unlock our economic potential, we will be able to bring this figure to $1 billion. To do this, we have serious reserves in such areas as energy, transport, logistics, IT, agriculture, industry and others," Tokayev stressed.
After the negotiations, a number of interstate documents were signed, and the heads of state made statements to the press. Details will be published in the following materials.–0—
