Top Biden Aid Hosts Hajiyev, Grigoryan In Peace Talks
As a fragile cease-fire holds, U.S. National Security Advisor on Tuesday met with Azerbaijani presidential adviser Hikmet Hajiyev and the secretary of Armenia's National Security Council Armen Grigoryan in Washington D.C. "for direct and constructive talks" as Jake Sullivan put it, TURAN's U.S. correspondent reports.
"We discussed the importance of avoiding further violence and pursuing time-bound and focused negotiations," Sullivan noted in a tweet.
"We also identified concrete steps forward in support of a stable and lasting peace," he added.
The White House provided no further details.
The meeting just days after the foreign ministers’ face-to-face dialogue in New York. The U.S,. which facilitated the meeting, had urged the sides to "meet again" by the end of the month.

In late October, Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) reported that Russia has deployed over 7,000 North Korean soldiers to areas near Ukraine, transported by at least 28 military flights. According to Ukrainian sources, these DPRK troops are equipped with Russian-supplied weapons, including 60mm mortars, AK-12 rifles, PKK/PKM machine guns, SVD sniper rifles, Phoenix anti-tank missiles, and RPG-7 rocket launchers.
