Toyvo Klaar arrives to prepare for Brussels meeting?
Baku/24.02.23/Turan: EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toyvo Klaar arrived in Yerevan the previous evening.
He held a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, on Friday morning.
According to the press service of the Armenian Security Council, they discussed "the process of implementing the agreements reached within the framework of the Brussels format of Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations.
Klaar tweeted that he "intends to hold a series of consultations following the Munich meetings," referring to the February 18 trilateral meeting at the Munich Security Conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to European Union sources, Klaar will arrive in Baku from Yerevan, where he will also hold high-level meetings.
Note that the results of the trilateral meeting in Brussels were positively assessed by the Azerbaijani leader as well. Secretary Blinken, the initiator of the Brussels meeting, has also repeatedly spoken about the progress in the negotiations.
On Thursday the spokesman for the State Department, Ned Price, made it clear that the sides are preparing a new meeting in Brussels.
From what has been said above, it can be concluded that Toyvo Klaar will agree on the parameters and agenda of the upcoming meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. -02B-
