Trade Unions Nominate Ilham Aliyev
Baku / 05.02.18 / Turan: The 5th Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan today nominated the current head of state Ilham Aliyev as presidential candidate for the April 11 extraordinary elections. The Congress adopted an appeal to Aliyev on this matter.
Speaking at the congress, the presidential aide on public and political issues, Ali Hasanov, called on the participants of the forum to support Aliyev's candidacy.
"We know that the Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan always nominates Ilham Aliyev as a presidential candidate. And this time we urge all workers of trade unions to support the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev," Hasanov said.
The Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan is the successor of the trade unions that have remained since the times of the USSR. -06D--

According to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, the Binaqadi Court in Baku has extended the detention period for the previously arrested leaders of the Karabakh separatists: Arkadiy Gukasyan, Bako Saakyan, Araik Arutyunyan, David Babayan, David Ishkhanyan, Leva Mnatsakanyan, David Manukyan, and Ruben Vardanyan. The investigative team from the prosecutor's office and police in France continues to investigate the murder of Vidadi Iskanderli, the victim's brother, Oktay Iskanderli said.
