Troubles are caused to broadcast a TV program "Radio Liberty" for Azerbaijan

Intervention is made to the satellite broadcasting of the programs "Radio Freedom" - "Free Europe" in Azerbaijan. This is contrary to international telecommunication regulations, and can be regarded as a new stage in the history of creating troubles for broadcasting the programs of the radio station, according to the message of "Radio Liberty".

 
In particular, there are troubles in picture and sound freezing during the broadcast of the weekly television program “Differing news” of the Azerbaijani service of "Radio Liberty".
 
This transmission is through «Medya TV» channel via popular Turkish satellite TurkSat. Interferences start four or five minutes after the start of the transmission, and stop after the completion of the program. It was observed for three weeks, beginning since May 28. To avoid this frequency of transmission and broadcasters have been changed.
 
First the program was broadcast on DengeTV, and then - Sivas SRT.
 
However, each time the engineers of the International Broadcasting Bureau of the United States recorded the electronic interventions aimed at disrupting the broadcast.
 
The last intervention in broadcasting the program «Differing news» was documented on June 16.
 
    "In recent years our broadcasting on local frequencies was ceased. There were a lot of facts of pressure on our journalists. We have a suspicion that these interventions are the continuation and even intensification of the same policy, «said Kevin Klose, the president and CEO of "Radio Liberty" - "Free Europe".
 
   "Such development of events is a serious concern for a possible threat to established international conventions. I'm not talking about the threat to international norms and standards in the freedom of the media," added Klose.
 
He called on the officials of the telecommunications sector in Azerbaijan to investigate interference with TV and radio broadcasts of "Radio Liberty".
 
According to him, the corporation will continue to focus on the programs of «Radio Liberty".
He reminded that the mission of "Radio Liberty" is to ensure the Azerbaijani people with free and impartial information, and an opportunity to express their views freely.
 
The "Differing News" aired from November 2012 every Sunday via satellite channel «MedyaTV». Currently, the program is broadcast via satellite TgrkSat on the air Sivas SRT:
