Tural Abbasli can be imprisoned for three months
Consideration of the case of Tural Abbasli, the head of the youth organization of the party "Musavat", is scheduled for August 7, in the Nasimi District Court of Baku. He is charged under the Article 313.2.3 (evasion of public works) of the Code of Administrative Offences (CAO).
According to Turan Abbasli himself, he may be imprisoned for three months.
The Nasimi District Department for execution of court decisions received a letter from the management of housing and communal operational site N41 that Abbasli did not performed 220 hours of community service, as an administrative punishment. However, this is not true. Abbasli visited the management of housing and communal services, and was registered there. However, he did not offer to perform any work.
"Musavat" party considers the hasty conducting of the trial in the case of Abbasli as his isolation from the society during the election campaign for the President of Azerbaijan. The party demands to stop the pressure on the young activist.
Abbasli and a number of other activists were fined for taking part in an unauthorized rally on January 12 of this year in the center of Baku. The court fined them 400-600 manat, but some activists refused to pay. Then they were to fulfill hard works. -16D06-
