Turkey supports Azerbaijan, but does not participate in the war - Foreign Ministry
Baku/02.10.20/Turan: The statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry rejected Armenia's claims about Turkey's participation in the military operation in Karabakh.
“Armenia, trying to present Turkey as one of the sides of the military operation, is trying to explain to its public the reason for its weakness before the attacks of the Azerbaijani army. On the other hand, Armenia is trying to create on the international arena its traditional “long-suffering” image, counting on the support of the Turkophobic circles. Armenia should definitely know that Turkey, the closest ally of Azerbaijan, has supported Azerbaijan’s actions. Its support is based on justice and the right to liberate the occupied territories. Armenia should also not forget that Turkey is one of the founders and a permanent member of the OSCE Minsk Group,” reads the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey for 30 years has ensured the development, prosperity, stability and security of the South Caucasus and this partnership plays the role of a locomotive in the global projects implemented in the region. The fact that Armenia stayed away from all projects in the region is the choice of Yerevan itself.
Azerbaijan, which is currently conducting military operations to restore its territorial integrity and sovereignty, has a professional, strong army, equipped with the latest weapons and therefore does not need the participation of another country.
“In response to Armenia’s statements that Azerbaijan has attracted terrorists and mercenaries for military operations, we note once again that these statements of the Armenian propaganda machine are groundless. Thus, Armenia is trying to divert attention from the fact that it itself uses the services of terrorists from the Middle East with Armenian roots. Armenia wants to discredit Azerbaijan’s just actions. Even before the start of the military operation, Azerbaijan more than once brought to the attention of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs about the illegal resettlement of persons from the Middle East to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,” the statement says.
These terrorists deployed in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan are participating in the war against Azerbaijan and civilians. “In the conditions when our calls to the world community to withdraw these terrorist gangs from our territories remained without results, Azerbaijan will solve the problem with its army, which is a threat to regional security and peace. This problem will be solved with the liberation of our occupied territories,” the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stressed. —71D-
