Turkish Defense strengthens Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev
«Today we are with the Turkish people. Our unity is eternal, indestructible," said the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the press conference after the top meeting of the Council of the strategic cooperation Azerbaijan-Turkey in Ankara.
Aliyev has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in the Turkish capital, and expressed his condolences to the Turkish people. "Terrorist attacks cannot break the will of the Turkish people. The unity and solidarity of our two countries has been going on for 25 years. Turkey and Azerbaijan together erected the building friendship and brotherhood," Anadolu agency quoted Aliyev. ".
Aliyev thanked Turkey for its support in the Karabakh conflict, stressing that the issue should be resolved fairly, in accordance with international law. Then he touched the defense industry of Turkey. "Turkey's success in this area will strengthen the defense potential of Azerbaijan," he said.
During the meeting with Erdogan the sides discussed the implementation of the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP), as well as new opportunities for the development of the transport sector. The President also stressed that there are no two other countries in the world that are so close to each other as Azerbaijan and Turkey.
