Two Azerbaijani border guards killed while detaining Iranian drug couriers
Baku/15.05.21/Turan: Two Azerbaijani border guards were killed while trying to detain Iranian drug couriers on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border in the Yardimlim border area.
Three unknown border violators responded to the order to stop and opened fire on the border guards, who were seriously injured and died during the evacuation to the hospital, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported.
About 10 kg of narcotic substances were found at the scene.
As a result of operational measures, one of the border violators was detained, and the search for the rest continues. Measures are being taken to establish the identity of the trespasser, who is an Iranian citizen. The Iranian side was also informed about the incident.—0—
