Ukraine: Operational information as of 06:00 on 28 February
Kiev/28.02.22/Turan: The Russian army (RA) has continued shelling military and civilian airfields, troop control points, air defence facilities, important critical infrastructure and populated areas during an air offensive operation, the Ukrainian General Staff reported.
In violation of the International Humanitarian Law, RA launched missile strikes on residential buildings in the cities of Zhytomyr and Chernigov.
As of today, artillery fire from one of the Ukrainian brigades has destroyed more than five columns of enemy equipment and manpower.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, from February 24 to February 28, RA lost: aircrafts - 29, helicopters - 29, tanks - 191, armoured combat vehicles - 816, artillery guns - 74, SAM BUK - 1, grad - 21, vehicles - 291, tanks - 60, UAVs - 3, ships/boats - 2, air defense equipment - 5.
The Dnepropetrovsk regional police has simplified the procedure for citizens to obtain hunting weapons. Permits to purchase weapons will be considered as soon as possible. To do this, a citizen must provide the police with a medical certificate of the established form, a certificate of passing the courses. Volunteer doctor Ruslan Agayev told the Turan News Agency.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported in the evening of February 27 that a group of the LNR troops, with fire support from the Russian armed forces, successfully advanced another four kilometres deep into Ukraine. The DNR forces advanced another six kilometres. The settlements of Nizhneve, Granitniy and Gnutove were liberated.
In total, the Russian armed forces shot down 1,067 of Ukraine's military infrastructure.
Among them: 27 AFU command and communications centres, 38 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa surface-to-air missile systems, and 56 radars.
Note that 254 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 31 aircraft (on the ground), 46 multiple rocket launchers, 103 field artillery pieces and mortars and 164 pieces of special military equipment were destroyed.
On 27 February, 7 anti-aircraft missile systems were destroyed, including one S-300 near the town of Kramatorsk. 3 Bayraktar TB-2 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down in the town of Chernigov.
No data for 28 February has so far been disseminated by the Russian Defence Ministry.-0-
