Washington D.C./22.03.23/Turan: The Biden Administration on Tuesday announced sanctions aimed at 4 entities and 3 individuals for their involvement in Iran’s drone and weapons programs, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
"Iran’s proliferation of weapons destabilizes the Middle East," Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement. "The United States will continue to act to disrupt Iran’s proliferation of UAVs and work with Allies and partners to counter Iran’s weapons proliferation."
Here’s a look at the new designations:
— Asghar Mahmoudi for orchestrating the movement of supplies to Iran.Selin Technic Co.
— Amanallah Paidar for working as a commercial manager and procurement agent for Iran
— Murat Bukey, who the U.S. said is a procurement agent who has backed Paidar.
— Defense Technology and Science Research Center for conducting defense-related procurement and research and development for Iran.
— Farazan Industrial Engineering, Inc., which the U.S. alleges helped Iran obtain military supplies and attempted to acquire European-made engines for drones and surface-to-air missiles.
