USA and Canada will finance humanitarian demining in Azerbaijan
Baku/16.12.21/Turan: A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the British non-governmental organization MAG (Mines Advisory Group).
According to ANAMA, according to the document, MAG will conduct special trainings to train new field employees of the agency.
It is also planned to provide consultancy services for demining.
The project will be implemented in Azerbaijan with financial assistance from the United States and Canada.
Cooperation between ANAMA and MAG will contribute to informing international donor organizations about the scale of the existing mine problem in Azerbaijan. MAG works in 29 countries in the areas of humanitarian demining, creating a safe environment and liaising with conflict-affected communities.
In the early 2000s, ANAMA and MAG already collaborated to provide technical support for humanitarian demining-05D06-.
