Vahe Avetyan Not Allowed to Baku (UPDATED)
Azerbaijani authorities still did not allow a Swedish citizen, a native of Armenia Vahe Avetyan, to Baku. He spent the night in the neutral zone of the Baku airport and turned back with the Ukrainian airlines.
"Thanks to everyone, who was with me last two days. I received thousands of letters in these two days.
I am grateful to all Azerbaijanis and Armenians who support peace. If you believe that one person can change history a bit towards peace, then do not be lazy and do not be just consumers of FB. Make your contribution, though small, to the peace process. Peace to our homes!" Avetyan wrote on his Facebook page on Monday morning, already in the Kiev airport.
He spent all last night and day at the Baku airport, awaiting his fate, but he did not get an answer or the answer just was that he had no visa.
In the capital of Azerbaijan, despite a lot of talk about tolerance, there was no official who would show good will and take responsibility to decide to accept this person, who openly condemns the policy of the Armenian authorities and encourages its people to friendship with Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's leaders never tire in their speeches to urge Armenians to condemn their "criminal leadership" and "overthrow this illegal power". When representatives of Armenia express understanding and agreement, the authorities in Baku do not know what to do with it. -02B-

Late in the evening on October 8 the Armenian dissident writer Vahe Avetyan arrived in Baku from Sweden.
As he wrote on his page on Facebook, he was not invited and he came as a peacemaker. However, it is not clear how he was allowed on the plane without a visa.
Judging by all, he flew through Kiev with the Ukrainian Airlines. However Avetyan has a Swedish passport and is a citizen of this country.
At the airport, Avetyan was detained in the neutral zone and, according to him, he was soon attended by representatives of the authorities, who after a brief conversation went to "accelerate the process", without specifying which one.
According to Avetyan, he has been sitting in the airport for more than 12 hours.
Avetyan was persecuted in Armenia for recognizing the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. He also expressed sympathy for the events in Khojaly, which is why he is called traitor of the Armenians.
The Azerbaijani authorities have not commented on the situation. In principle, a citizen of Sweden may be issued a visa at the airport, if he has been invited by an organization.
For Azerbaijan, it would be useful to demonstrate its vaunted tolerance and receive Avetyan at the appropriate level, rather than deal with him as an illegal migrant - especially against the background of the recent statements by President Ilham Aliyev about the callousness and inhumanity of Europeans in relation to the refugees from the Middle East. -02B-
