Where is the letter of the European Court?
On 9 April, the European Court of Human Rights, giving priority to the complaint of Ilgar Mamedov, started communications with the government of Azerbaijan, and the authorities were set a number of questions.
In particular, official Baku was to submit responses to the Strasbourg Court before July 18, and the Court was to forward them to a lawyer for comment, Turan was told by the lawyer, Fuad Agayev.
On July 8 the lawyer sent a letter to the Court, in which he expressed concern about the non-receipt of such documents.
"Today we received a message from the Registry of the Court that the government's response was sent on June 26! It means that the letter still hasn’t reached its destination in 20 days! This is especially late for the Azerbaijani post office. The last similar post sent on May 23, I received in 10 days, " said the lawyer.
Ilgar Mamedov was arrested on fabricated charges of organizing riots in the city of Ismailli on 13-14 January. In this regard, the European Court has identified his case as a priority, and is considering it out of turn. -02D-
