Yerevan denies the right of Azerbaijanis to return to Armenia – I. Aliyev
Azerbaijan is a supporter of sustainable peace in the South Caucasus and supports the regional peace agenda, normalization of relations and signing of a peace treaty with Armenia, stated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pia Kaumu on November 13.
He noted that after Azerbaijan liberated its territories occupied by Armenia, there are now good opportunities for a peaceful agenda.
Aliyev stressed that after the 44-day war in 2020, it was Azerbaijan that initiated the peace treaty with Armenia and the principles that form its basis.
Currently, Azerbaijan has presented a clear and transparent program concerning coexistence and the right to return.
However, Yerevan denies the right of Azerbaijanis to return to Armenia and does not present any view on this issue, the Azerbaijani president noted.
During the meeting, it was noted that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly can become an effective platform for building trust between the delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
